Thread: Duration for getting a BSNL Broadband connection in Cochin/Ernakulam

Dear Friends,

I am residing at Kochi/Cochin/Ernakulam.

I have applied for BSNL Broadband connection(with new land line) on 2-Apr-2009 and BSNL Line men came for Address verification on 6-Apr-2009. But after that there was no news from BSNL.

So my queries are :
1) How much time BSNL takes for giving broadband connection after Address verification visit in Ernakulam/in general ?

2) Whom to contact for any further information ? (I have submitted BSNL Broad Band Application at a BSNL Franchisee)

It took almost 1 month for me. That too after repeated follow ups. The best thing to do,

Call your local exchange, ask them when you are going to get it. They will either answer you or give you another no. which deals with connection. Talk to them in every 2 days.

BSNL + Proper follow up = The best possible output.

A million rupee post. I got my connection the next day of my application. In fact After submitting the application, BSNL employee issue me a demand note immidiately. Then at that moment I pay the amount and submit the receipt to BB i/c and then he gave me the modem and told me that to get the uid and pass I have to wait 24 hours. and next day he called me and gave me the id and pass at arround 5:00 PM. As I told him that I can set up my connection by myself.

In rural areas, BB connection is available within 15 days. Don't know about urban areas.

• 1st BSNL BB- Bhubaneswar- landline(4 working days) + BB(1 working day)
• 2nd BSNL BB-Hyderabad - landline(3 working days) + BB(2 working days)

Sounds like a dream. It took almost a month for me (even after repeated calls). May be they have a lot of competition there.
