Exclamation Connecting Linksys WRT54g to Dlink Adsl2 router

my laptop is connected to ADSL2 via usb. I am trying to set up a wireless connection at home using a linksys WRT54G wireless router.

I have connected an ethernet cable from Dlink router to Linksys "internet" point.

I do see a wireless network "linksys" (which is the default) on the laptop but am unable to connect to internet. I am trying to use the linksys device just as an access point.

Am i missing somethign here. Also, my ipod touch too detects the same network but cannot log on.

    Need help and thanks

Your adsl modem has only USB port ? No LAN port.?
Mention the model and make. ( Dlink _________?)

    3. Confirm your laptop works in WIFI mode , without any cable connection.
Ensure you have enabled DHCP in the adsl modem.

    4. Post ipconfig /all of your wireless lan card.
Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

    5. Ipod : Check WIFI connectivity
Does it show secured/unsecured network in the vicinity?
Check with a friend's wifi set up
