where exactly is your splitter connected ............... ??
is it connected before the telephone or after it ...
Ideally the splitter must be connected before the telephone i.e. the main phone line goes into the splitter then from the splitter one line goes to the telephone and the other to the router/modem .
yes the same way !!
line --> splitter --->> phone & modem
please post your SNR,attenuation values of your line ...........
Have u tried with a different Telephone Instrument?
hi
can u tell me how to take SNR ?
i changed all the cables,phones,splitter.. same !!
Step by Step checking.
just remove all connection the direct incomming line from the pole or box give it to router no splitter no phone then connect and ring to your phone number & check if it still disconnects if it does then complaint to CC else
now connect the incomming line to splitter & take only one wire from splitter and connect to router remember no phone connection now connect to net, call to your number & check if it gets disconnected then change your splitter else now connect the phone & try if everything works fine use it else change the phone... i think phone is good or bad doesnt make any difference...

Do you suffer from distortion or weird noice while using your telephone for conversation ......... ??
Please mention your modem make & model ..............
You can access your modem configuration page by typing the following into your web-browser :-
http://192.168.1.1/
then it would ask for you modem username and password which in most cases is admin .
username: admin
password: admin
after this you would be able to browse through your modem configuration pages ...........
NOTE:- please don't make any changes until and unless you are sure about as to what you are doing .
then after manually looking under various tab you will find your SNR and attenuation etc. under one of the tab's mentioned in the modem configuration page .............

It could be a problem of splitter. Are you sure you have not changed the lines in the splitter. Please check the following diagram with care.
Reported
line --> splitter --->> phone & modem
Suggested ( I saw it like this at my place, please correct me if I am wrong)

I had faced a similar problem. The solution I found : stop using a splitter. It works for me.
^^^
that would mean that the splitter was faulty
I had also faced this problem.
And, finally it was all solved after I they checked the lines and replaced the old telephone lines with new ones (i.e, the one from the connection box on the post to my house).
I really started using my Broadband connection only after that.![]()
what is inside an ADSL splitter ?
the (phone) line from ISP goes DIRECT to the modem
whether you use an adsl splitter or not.
The line to the phone has electronic components to
give easy passage to VOICE signals
and Block Data signals.![]()
