Broadband usage beyond the free limit is no longer a burden. In order to reward customers, whose occasional usage crosses their free limit for whatever reasons, BSNL has decided to offer discounts on such usage beyond their free limit on all Broadband Plans under the category of Home and Business.


Sl. No. Usage beyond free limit Discount on usage charges beyond free limit
1. Upto 1 GB NIL
2. > 1 GB to 5 GB 15%
3. > 5 GB to 10 GB 30%
4. >10 GB 40%


Other terms and conditions:

1. These discounts are applicable for usage after 01-04-2009
2. The above discounts will be on non-graded basis
3. All other terms and conditions of Broadband tariff will remain unchanged

hmm thats good news or bad...? yes its definitely a good news as many will be benefited by that... even if it crosses the limit will get 15% atleast as the discount... thats good initiative from BSNL...

I said bad because now some will think that ok lets use little more than limit as any how will get some discount...

BSNL Chennai & Kolkata has certain level of autonomy. So they can create tarriffs that are cheaper than the other circles.
We have to wait for the general instructions.

I am blaming BSNL. why they are doing such type of partition? We all are Indian and offcourse BSNL customer too. Then why only Chennai & Kolkata circle customers are getting extra benefit????

My point of view is Chennai & Kolkata customer should get this benefit but we should also get these oportunity.

they are not esteemed customers but now BSNL has been privatized & divided into circles so all ther circle head can take any decision they want... like giving discounts, offers etc.... and their head are giving good benefits but ours are not...!

Nothing personal.
But in Chennai & Kolkata there are multiple pvt. players. So BSNL faces more competition. Naturally its pure business principle that forces them to grant concessions.

Other cities, BSNL practically is the monopoly.

The rest is available in any book on Business or Economics.

Yes you are right. But it can be equalise with all India basis. Why we should pay more??? This is only because we do not have other option??? SO..........

This is not our fault. Other company is not coming here and only because of this we have to pay a lot??????? Is it fare???????

I can agree with you people that they should compit with other ISP in providing us good service and obviously in lawer rates and it sould be equalize, all India basis.

Who ever said life is fair?

They are also here to do business. BSNL is not an NGO after all.

Nobody ever complain that the tax payers money is used to subsidise the operations of King Fisher and Jet by giving them cheap ATF. Or that LPG is sold at 2/3rd of its actual price.
