Default Information needed on BSNL-250 plan

I just purchased BSNL broadband-250 per month plan this month. I have a few doubts. Can somebody please tell me,

    1. What does the 1 GB download limit mean ? Does it only include the ebooks or the videos we download or does it also include the websites that we browse, number of hours we browse ? Does browsing sites like youtube increase the download limit ?

I have downloaded ebooks worth around 70 mb. But my dataone site account details is showing 1.125 GB.

    2. What is the speed of this 250 scheme ?

    all downloads and uploads included.
If you got the connection on , say 7th April usage is on pro rata basis say 33 or 34 MB per day.

Excess usage so far 125 MB approx Rs 150/=
If connection activated from 1st April 2009

Use FireFox browser with add ons Adblock plus flashblock and NoScript.
    1GB= 1024 MB

1GB download limit means that you can only 1 GB for free and if you are exceeded then you will be charged extra according to your plan.

It inlcudes all the things which you do in your web browser from opening mails to searching, watching youtube etc etc..

No how youtube will increase the download limit!!

It is due to that you are taking account only the e-books which you have downloaded and not your surfing and all the other things which you have done in your browser

The speed of the 250 scheme is upto 2 Mbps which means your download speed is ~260 KB/s

1 GB is the limit you can use. When we use internet, we download data as webpages or programs. Also we sent some information as upload. In Home 250, you can Download/Upload upto 1GB. You can check your usage in
data.bsnl.in or dataone.in. But due to maintenance, the server can be down and you may not be able to access the data. Mainly during 1-4 of the month. Also I suggest not to believe these official sites completely (out of experience).

You can use a broadband meter for this purpose. A dataone tool is also available which you can use in tandem with the broadband meter. Please note that the broadband meter shows approximate value. So please counter check with the value in the portal.

If your connection does not begin from 1st of April, you will not get full 1 GB. If you got connection on 10 th the limit you can use is 20/30 X 1 GB. You will have to pay extra for data exceeding this limit. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

"download" for the purpose of billing includes all internet use including but not limited to

    1. All the things which you do in your web browser like E-Mail, website browsing, watching videos, listening to online music, downloading files etc.
    2. Automatic Updates of Windows, anti-virus and any other programs
    3. Accessing E-mails through clients like Outlook or Thunderbird
    4. Use of any software that access the internet like Google Earth, G-Talk, Skype, Yahoo Messenger etc.

As per 250 Plan your agreegate use from all these sources togather count for the limit of 1 GB free. Beyond 1 GB, its chargeable additionally.

For the first month of installation both rent and free use would be reduced proportionately to the number of days actually installed.
