Thread: New connection and wifi router

Hi guys I m new here.
I have recently applied for BSNL 500c+ plan. I didnt took wifi router from BSNL.
I am thinking about getting a new wifi router which could provide me a good range. I need wifi signals on two floors so plz suggest me a good wifi router. One of my friend suggested me linksys but I think it is too costly cuz my budget in only 1800-2000 INR. Plz suggest a router that has a internally built ADSL modem.

Are u taking a normal router/modem from BSNL or not taking any router/modem.
If u are taking a normal modem, then a simple wifi router (available around 1500) would do rather than going for a Modem+router.

Option 1;
Better take Bsnl wifi router on rent.
use it for one or two months. cost rs 1600/= rent rs 80 PM.

Option 2 ; Rent a type 1 ADSl modem from BSNL
rent Rs 50 PM. cost Rs 1000/=

Buy a wifi router for about Rs 1500 to Rs 2500/=

Does netgear wrg614 contain internal adsl modem? I think I will need a modem along with it to connect to internet with this router.

Netgrear wgr614 is a plain (wireless) router. You will need an external modem with it.

what if i use airtel modem with netgear wgr614. Will it work. It would cost me only about 2000. Will there be any problems associated with it like bandwidth reduction?

well bsnl is providing me the router in 1800. Is this the latest price or someting wrong in there(corruption).

the price u r telling is quite outdated bro. the type 1 modem now costs 1200 and type 4 costs 1800. And rent has increased by 10-20 INR per month. Now the 500c+ has only got 256kBps speed. It can go upto 2mbps. Well these are the new plans.
Can someone give me info on how to use airtel 220BX1 with netgear wgr614 on a BSNL 500c+ plan. I need it asap. Just provide me with the link.
