data.bsnl.in, dataone.in are official BSNL sites to check usage. For this you need an ID and password which you get during connection. Password is normally password unless you have changed it.

The downtime of BSNL websites are high. ie, you may not find the website at times. Also they do not update on a real time basis. ie, to check today's usage, you need to wait for 2-3 days. And they may update usage on 1st of Month somewhere after 25th of the month (says due to maintenance). We believe we are safe and continue using net (it happened to me). So it is wise to have a Bandwidth meter which shows your usage.
