I bought Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 last month to use - not so much the Voice-based apps like phone and music but more for Enterprise Non-voice/text-based apps like Internet surfing, SMS/MMS and Notes and here I am unable to use my expensive device effectively - feeling marooned!(somebody in another forum says Sony Ericsson Xperia deserves to be re-named "Sony Ericsson Expensia" - but expense is OK if it does the job for you, ain't it!).
My Mobile and Internet service provider is BSNL Mobile. My account is adequately topped up. But the device keeps flashing an error message "There is a problem accessing the GPRS service in your registered home network" intermittently and also whenever I try to send an SMS/MMS or access the net via the PDA. Just says "Unable to send" messages. The local device vendor is clueless. When I asked BSNL to GPRS enable my SIM card, they say that Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is not in their database and they will fix it up soon. One week has passed. Nothing has happened!
Also I am unable to locate a Firewall and Antivirus - which are considered essential security features for text-based apps - like SMS/MMS and also to surf the net safely - inside Windows Mobile 6.1 preloaded in Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Windows Mobile 6.1 does not accept third party Firewall/Antivirus apps to be installed in my device.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1's PDA-SmartPhone part seems to be deficient (Or maybe poorly configured/setup), in my assessment, though the hardware is really superb!
But how can the vendors call a device and OS net-enabled if they don't provide a built-in Firewall and Antivirus OR at least allow the user to get the same from third party vendors and install them into the PDA_Smart phone?
I am a noobie and am looking for the help I need urgently, am unable to get from my hardware and OS vendors - now from the nerds of India Broadband Forum which I find really wonderful!
PlsssssssHelp - SOS!
Zillion Thanx in advance!
