BSNL has given me access to their portal to see the daily bandwidth usage. Everyday I am trying to log in to that portal, but the success rate is 1 out of 25 times. Ie, if I try to log in 25 times on different time, I can log in once and see the usage.

It accepts my username and password and hangs in the next page without displaying any data.

Anyone else seeing this problem with the BSNL portal?

Instead of complaining and wasting D/L quota
use other Bandwidth meters to keep track of your usage.
NOT dependent on bsnl usage portals.
Cross check usage with BSNL site once a week or so.


Tautology Bandwidth meter / Shaplus / or other meters.
If free NU is available the meters can be disabled.

Try using data.bsnl.in. This is also a BSNL site and a better one. Earlier i used to be like you. Now i depend on this one. It is better. BSNL websites are down at frequent intervals. So most of us use a bandwidth meter.

but there is a hell lot of difference between bw measured by softwares and by bsnl. bsnl shows 1211Mb for this month while shaplus shows 742Mb. lol

Bandwidth meter measures the bandwidth only from the moment we install it. It does not access the BSNL sites for values.

If you want a software that access BSNL sites, you can use a Dataone Tool. All bandwidth meter give approximate values. We could have avoided it if BSNL site is reliable. If you have checked the " More info " , it clearly states that the values are approximate. If you need an alternative, use Bitmeter or you can find many other tools in a Google search.

2. Did you enable it from 1st of the month ?
Please extract data for a single day from BSNL portal and shaplus meter.
3. Have you disabled the meter during NU time ?
4. What is your tariff plan ?

well george, there is definately some difference, which can be counted as considerable. but i think something is wrong in ur case. may be DU shaplus meter wtopped working for few time on ur pc. in my experience, there is always difference of like 30-50 mb, when i use DU meter.

but does tautology allows u to disable the meter during NU time ?

also essebbe, how do u manage to download @ NU without waking up???

You can use IDM or any download manager with scheduler. Also you can use utorrent scheduling. I think you are familiar with Imran's Broadbad Utility. It automatically resets your connection a bit after 2 am and resets again before 8 am. So schedule the downloads accordingly.
