Thread: bsnl broadband modem connect To linksys router

i have a bsnl broadband modem connected to my laptop through ethernet cable now i have purchased LINKSYS ROUTER WRH54G, How can i connect my bsnl modem to linksys router.My bsnl broadband modem is configured in such a way that my user name & password is stored in modem. so how can i browse internet wireless please explain me how to configure linksys router to my laptop. please obilge thanks

Please look in the Broadband How section before starting a thread, to see if what you need is already there. And, also mention your modem model while asking for help.

1.Ensure Internet works OK with
with Bsnl Modem ( ut300r2U?) RJ45
connected to laptop ethernet port.

2. Remove the Rj45 from laptop end
and connect to WAN port of WRH54G

3. Connect another RJ45 from LAN1 of WRH54G
to laptop ethernet port.

4. follow the guides mentioned above or
run the Installation CD.

5. If working alright.
Try wifi set up . remove RJ 45 from laptop.
5a If not working go to 11.

6. Start/All programs/ Accessories/ Communications
Wireless network connection wizard. follow menu screens.

7. try with unsecured key.
8 Then enter WPA or WEP security key.

9. BSNL modem .May not require any changes.

10 Confirmed you are on "Always On " mode
( USERID PW stored in modem )
11.
Any problem post this data for
LAN mode or WIFI mode
for WRH54G.

Start/ RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all
