Thread: Is there any change in free calls on BSNL 500c plan??

I just got a bsnl broadband connection a month ago... (500c plan)
I got the bill a few days back, the bill was around 2400 Rs including modem charge and all.But according to this plan I should get 175 free calls. but i got only 68 free calls and the rest was charged.plz some one let me know whether the plan was changed ,im attaching a copy of the bill..

I am not very sure about this. Maximum no of free calls for Rs.150 rent is 150. You can find the call tariff here.

Plan has not changed. everything is alright. I think you take the connection in the middle of the month. so you get this type of bill

please correct me if I am wrong, but my deduction from your bill is that u got your broadband activated on 27th March 2009 (as per details indicated in the right side)

So the breakup of charges are like this

Voice Rent (1 to 26) 180/30x26 = Rs. 156 (shown as fixed charges)

Free Calls 50/30x27 = 45 (have no idea why they took 27 instead of 26)
175/30x4 = 23
Total 45+23=68
Metered calls 411
Charged Calls 411-68 = 343 @ Re.1 = Rs.343

Broadband Charges
Rent 500/31x5 = Rs. 80.65
Free Usage 1.5 GB/31x5 = 248 MB
Charged Usage 191 MB x 80p = 152.80 (again no idea why they indicate 152.70)
Total Use 439 MB (back calculation)

Broadband Deposit 500
Modem Cost (incl. 4% VAT) 1040.40

Service Tax @ 10% (156+343+80.65+152.80) = 73.24
Cess @ 2% + 1% of 73.24 = 1.47 + .73 = 2.20

Call Charges ..................343.00
Service Tax.......................73.24
Misc Charges
Modem Cost..1040.40
Deposit...........500.00
BB Rent............80.65

So the only grievance that you can have is that they have wrongly taken for free call calculation 27 days in earlier plan and 4 days in 500C instead of 26 and 5 days. The effect is that 4 more calls have been charged i.e. an excess charge of Rs. 4

u can lodge a claim of Rs. 4 if u have the time to pursue it
