Im not able to understand the usage detail of bsnl portal
plzz some one explain me about that

this is the screenshot of bsnl usage detail plzz some one explain me about
what is chargeable unit excluding nightunlimited and
total volume in mb

since nearly 13gb is downloaded in the time 2:10 to 6:00
why it is showing that chargeable units is 1132 mb although i have not exceeded the 2.5 gb limit in the day time usage.

please help me im in big confusion................

1132MB : 1 GB= 1024 MB
2.5GB= 2060 MB
does not include night free time downloads.

unless this exceeds 2.5 GB you will not be asked to pay.

my friend was telling that the 1132 mb below Chargeable units excluding night unlimited will be charged to me and u will get the bill of rs 1000 extra shown in bsnl usage check portal
is it correct ...????
or i should not worry about it untill the chargeable units exceeds 2.5gb limit

download bsnl bandwidth meter from shaplus site.

login through this software enter your tariff plan and check your used and remaining bandwidth.

untill your charged bandwidth exceeded 2.5GB ( for Rs 500 plan ) dont worry. if it is more than that you will be charged Rs. 0.80 per MB.

one more thing -- i have seen many people crying cause of them internet bill, especially with BSNL 2mbps plan. so for them BSNL never billed more but those fellows, who dont know what the bandwidth is and "even each ORKUT page with full of photographs eat how much of them bandwidth". they download @ 2mbps through them Rs. 250 plan or Rs. 500 plan and exceeded the bandwidth limit by huge gap. so they people billed by that way. after they cry that bsnl is f**ging company and so.

with 1.6 ~ 1.7mbps connection ( that means 2mbps on bsnl server -- cause there is some errors, noise and other important data on your line ) one can download maximum 525 ~ 535GB per month. believe this or not...its your choice but this is 100% true..!!!

i and my 4 friends has Rs. 500 plan. we 5 guys download lover. we only start our download after 0205 am and upto 0755 am everyday. each of us download nearly 80GB per month. only one time i billed Rs. 1224. because that month i have used arround 3380 MB ( charged bandwidth ). and they billed me so.

All that matters is what BSNL say. Go to http://data.bsnl.in/wps/portal or BSNL - Broadband Account Management. Log in with your password and id. Check what is your Chargable units. (Please note that one site shows in MB and other in KB. essbebe has already given you the conversion formula.) You should have mentioned your plan details. As you have night unlimited you must be having Home 500 or 500C.

Use this link to find out how much you can use for your plan. If the chargeable units in BSNL site is less than what your are allowed in your plan, there is no need to worry.

BSNL site behave strangely at times. Once they added my 150 MB usage on 1st of month after 22 nd (saying some kind of maintenance). I was using and when the bill came my quota was exceeded due to this inappropriate addition. So most of us use a Bandwidth meter. Click here to download. Please note the values can vary a bit from BSNL site. So please counter check at regular intervals.
