Default Need to restart PC when modem loses power

I have a Huawei MT841 modem, running on windows XP.
The problem is whenever there is any kind of voltage fluctuation or loss of power and the modem resets; my PC will not connect to the internet unless I restart my PC. I have an APC UPS but it does not have backup power for modems.

Is there any way to prevent the need to restart on any power outage ?

Use a three way plug and connect the modem's power adapter.
Power requirement less than 1 or 2 Watts.
    ( usually 230V AC secondary /5V/ 9V /12 V AC or DC
    approx 1 amp.)
If the change over time is around/more than 24 ms still modem, will disconnect.

    Experienced : :
If the Modem 841 power adapter output is 12 V DC
can be connected directly to the UPS battery. OBSERVE POLARITY
    make a new cable .

I use APC Back-UPS ES 500. It has 3 sockets 2 with back ups and one with surge protection. I use these back up sockets for cpu and monitor. When there is a power failure, my net gets disconnected. Can I have some method that I have the back up. Like can i use an extension and then connect monitor and modem adapter into that.

Does 3 way plug means something like that. (sorry I am not that good at terminology ).That I can plug it into one of the backup socket and connect the modem adapter and monitor/cpu. Which one should I connect like that CPU/monitor ?

    Thanks in advance.
