    Default plan change application problem

i submitted an application on 29th april (yesterday), saying to change my broadband plan......i included my portal id and username,....but when i went to submit it. the guy at the counter said to cancel the portal id and username, and just write ur phone no.

    will my plan be changed?

For plan change, only your telephone no. is required. But plan change is a bit tricky with hidden charges. Please go through this thread.

You do not need to mention your portal id username/pwd on the application. And you should never do so on any application. It is never required for any purpose.

Portal id and password is solely for you to:

    a) check your order status
    b) track BB usage
    c) change BB as well as portal id password

Check your usage portal for another two or three days.

stick to your old tariff plan ( whatever it is !)
Wait for New tariff Plan to appear as "provisioned"
    in usage portal.
You have "applied" for a change.
Wait for BSNL to CHANGE IT>

Heavy downloads at your own risk if any.

We give the application in administrative section and it is implemented by technical section (Divisional Engineer). If you cannot see anything under BSNL portal (either of them), it means your application is yet to be moved to technical section.

When I tried plan change, i had to call them regularly (administrative section) to pass my application. It would not have taken more than two minutes to do that. Keep disturbing them, if they say they have already forwarded to technical section, a call to Divisional Engineer can be of help.

Go to data.bsnl.in > My orders > Please post the screen shot.

Remember to blacken personal information. No member will misuse it. Still it is not wise to post them in public.

    Please mention your intended plan.

Effective date shows 3rd May. Order status should be " Provisioned ".
So they have scheduled, but still to change. After you see it as provisioned, please check with the Senior Divisional Engineer and confirm.

You plan is not changed yet and one more thing is that do not go for service effective date. it is tentative and not confirmed. After the order status changed to PROVISIONED, your service effective date will be inally declared. That happens to me.

Keep in touch with your portal page. According to you, your portal is telling you that your plan change request is open. That means your plan change request is accepted in the NIB server only but not activated. Your next order status will be "Future Dated" and then ultimately your order status will be changed to "Provisioned'. Till then wait and watch. do not go for NU download or any major download.

Even if you see provisioned, talk to a technical person and confirm.

Unless your plan change is confirmed, your bills will be according to your present plan. Try a download after 2.00 am. Switch off the modem and ON it after 2.05 - 2.10 am. Then download a file. It will take 2-3 days to show the usage in the BSNL portal. Check whether the chargeable units is zero and what you downloaded is under night unlimited.

Check the portal regularly. The effective date is given under My orders. Normally the make it Provisioned on effective date.

Only way to make sure, that plan is changed , is to check the usage during the transition period.

Please wait until you see Provisioned. Talk to the BSNL people and ask them why it yet to be changed.

    @supershane4141,

No one here can predict when your plan will change. It is all up to BSNL. Sometimes plan change happens in 2 days, sometimes 15 days. Plan change usually but not necessarily happens from the next billing cycle.

So you will just have to wait. Check portal regularly and it will happen sometime. I applied for plan change twice. In my case, the first plan change happened on 27-March. The next one happened on 6-Jan.

I dont think so... BSNL is very slow in changing plans so i dont think it will be done. though you can try your luck.

If you are going from limited to high end limited or unlimited plan please confirm that your plan is changed then only go for heavy downloading else will end up paying very heavy bill....!
