Thread: utorrent, no speed. Pls help

Hi,
I just started to download a file. It has highest no of seeds and all. It shows downloading but no speed. Please help.

If there are no seeds, then it is no go. uTorrent will show it as downloading but to actually download someone needs to contribute. Search for other trackers. Sometimes the same file may be uploaded as a different torrent and may have better seeds.

Most torrent trackers publish a seeds/leeches figure also.

It has some 115 seed, 238 leechers

That's not a good seeder-leecher ratio whle choosing a torrent. As j4x said, try getting the same from some other source, with a good torrent health.

Is it because the no. of leechers is high. I used to think higher no of seed is enough.

115 seeds is not bad. How many of them are actually connected to your machine?

I have UL 750

So all of them have 100% of the file(s)? I am unable to find a reason for not downloading. Try a different torrent for the same file.

Check seeds and peers
A simple tip, but very important. Always look for torrents with the best seed/peer ratio. The more seeds (compared to peers) the better (in general). So 50 seeds and 50 peers is better than 500 seeds and 1000 peers. So, be selective.

It is always better to choose a torrent with a better seed to peer ratio than anything else, and my experiences with torrents have proven that to me.

And, I hope that the link would do you good in other ways also.

Will agree to the the above mentioned points for sure... to reiterate the same... look for a better seed/peer ratio.
