    Exclamation Please help me!

    Recently there is huge disturbance in my boradband,like frequent disconnections,link failure etc.
    Can anyone tell me that is SNR ratio(maybe sound to noise ratio,just a guess) and Attenuation Up/Down?
    My stats are as follows:
    Bandwidth Up/Down(Kbit/sec):864/10016
    SNR Up/Down:11 dB /8.5 dB
    CRC Up/Down:0/0
    FEC Up/Down:0/0
    HEC Up/Down:0/0
    Attenuation Up/Down:6.5 dB /16.0 dB

    Is there any huge indication of a problem?Is it a line failure?
    Please,i am so noob in this,but please help me,i contacted the BSNl authorities,they say they tested my line and its good,i dunno whats happening!
    thanks You in advance!

    @yashom
    You could have mentioned the modem/router you use.
    In any post always mention this.
    Assuming you use now Modem/router GLB502T

    Open your modem settings page .

    Check under status.

    @Battlehammer
    Modem AX Mt841

    See in Summary page whether ADSL2+ is selected.
    Change it to GDMT
    ( selection will be Auto in modem page )

    For reference:
    ht t p://210.212.160.18/broadband-conf/type4.htm

    h t t p://www.mp.bsnl.co.in/bb/mt841/mt841.htm

    Check all connections for corrosion/blackening/ etc.
    Use good quality Rj11 Short cable to modem.

    Hope you have connected all PHONES AFTER the
    AdsL SPLITTER phone PORT.
    SNR should improve.

    How far, you are from the Exchange ?
    What is your tariff plan ?

    2. when I come in status tab...what values should I look at
    3. sub tabs in status:
    Network Statistics
    Connection Status
    DDNS Update Status
    DHCP Clients
    QOS-TCA NTCA Status
    Modem Status
    Product Information
    System Log
    4. I am getting low speeds....hav tried everything.
    wanna see if this diagnoses the problem.

    Just forget about everything and look at the SNR ratio, as in your case its too low you will surely face sluggish speeds and disconnections this can due to the following reasons

    --Your phone line is almost in the grave and needs replacement
    --You are in ADSL2/2+ mode switch to G.dmt mode

    If you have already done the above mentioned points and still you are struggling then its better to wait as the BSNL server could be down

    I had narrowed the choice to modem status
    or connection status.

    http://www.dlink.co.in/GLB502T_Guide_modified/index.htm

    Anyway , this is the page, which i have in my Data base.
    Retype the link you had given correctly without http. .

    Post the screen shot of "modem Status" page of modem GLB802C for analysis. as an annexure.

    (A)DSmargin 7 means your connection is bad.
    contact Exchange.
    You local line from exchange attenuation 12 is low.
    does not appear any problem.

    Para two :try TCP/IP opitimizer application, from
    speedguide.net and recheck above values.

    Dude what should I tell BSNL people???
    will the operator understand if I say "DSmargin = 7"
    or should I ask them to clear line or reduce noise or watever?
    ~~~~~~~~~
    also...can u please tell what others values are bad???
    when I play diablo2...i get high pings. really wanna reduce the ping & latency.
    appreciated. :rockon:
    Did you download TCP/ip optimizer? and try it ?
    From screen shot cannot find any other fault.
    How far you are from the Exchange ?
    DS margin or SNR margin should be min 10 or more . I get 32 db.
    Also check "connection status"
    Tell BSNL that your connection is intermitent and
    Data signal is low.
    presume you have connected all Phones AFTER the ADSL splitter.
    *now DS margin reduced to 5.
    *I am about 100meter from BSNL exchange office. which probably has the server.
    *whr is my attenuation(not ds attenuation) from that pic.??
    *and DS Margin= noise, higher the better....so what is US Margin?
    *I cannot understand that TCP/IP optimizer...It shows "MTU" , "BDP/RWIN", "Latency" etc.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    it really sux when u see this:-

    Please test speed here;

    No idea how it is reduced.you have to report what you did.
    Just select default values in TCP/IP optimizer.

    How your D/L and U/L is same ? this is very rare for BSNL.
    Please post "connection Status'
    Hope you have selected ppp/PPPoE
    can you take on rent an adsl modem and try ?

    *my GLB-502T is new router.

    *I have a home 500 plan. Was easily getting 2mbps before.

    *this problem started recently...do u want me to post some logs, that u may read & help me sort this out? Like tcpip.sys & stuff.

    *My phone line is isolated...i.e. I have no phone on this line. There is a different number(line) for the telephone.

    *BSNL people say they have clear the line. WTF
    *same upload/download is bad???
    will show u "upload speed > download speed" next time..which is worst.

    In future please post as h t t p ://i41.tinypic.com/wkmzrd.jpg.

    Uncheck the Annex M entries in the end and
    give feedback.

    Check only at the new test site given . less bandwidth used.
    and appears more reliable.

    Is this marginal improvement ? 350% increase !
    .61mb/sec to 2.27mb/sec D/L.

    see left hand top. Check yours.

    .

    No mode not selected.
    Now keep only the first three entries. Uncheck rest.
    speed can vary and attempt is to get at least 150KB/sec
    1200Kbps or 1.2Mbps speed. for your selected plan.

    Check DS margin again
    Every adjustment counts.
    Sorry to trouble you, but these data
    will help others at a later date.
