    Default BSNL Broadband Connection

I have configured my BSNL router using just4kix's post on how to configure multiple connections.

I followed all the steps in the router configuration and also enabled PPPoE.

Earlier ,(i.e. when the BSNL technician had configured the router ) I had to create a new connection in the Network Connections menu and create a PPPoE connection for dialing in to my ISP.
But now , the moment I plug in the cable from my modem to my computer , the internet connection is ON.

Is there some setting I missed out ? I do not want to be connected to the internet all the time.

If you use PPPoE mode, to disconnect, simply switch off the modem. If modem is on, you will be charged even if you shutdown your computer and using a limited plan.

I think you should better stick to the Bridge mode(dial-up) which is more beneficiary for the users who have limited download plans

    @envee

If you had mentioned the modem model, job will be easy.
Anyway go to this web site
    BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU
    Select your modem

    Open the WAN page .

edit 0_35 link select WAN page
    select "Bridged"
    SAVE reboot
    wait for two minutes.
Now you must have a dialer to connect to Internet.

where you enter your userId and password.
Details available in the web site given.
