Does anyone using Yahoo messenger for voice chat ? I cannot find the feature in my messenger.

I use YM extensively to call people in USA. You have to click the option "Call a PC ..." or "Call a telephone ..." from the YM menu.

Unfortunately, I cannot find those options. Please take a look at the screen shot.

I can't use YM at office. I will try to send you the exact option later.

But the option is on the YM main window.

yes i use it from looooong time... since 5 yrs i guess i use it to call people in USA .. its so good...!

in the yahoo messenger chat window ............... their is a TAB named as call and an arrow against it ............
while you click that arrow one gets two options call a PC and the other one is call a TELEPHONE .............
if you lack these two options or infact if the call tab is itself missing maybe you can try re-installing the application as it may have got corrupted ............

I tried. Couldn't find these options.

I tried an update which says " You are currently running the latest Yahoo! Messenger version 9.0.0.2152. "

When I click those mentioned points/area, instead of this menu, it show an option to close. May be it is not supported with the latest version.

Call a Phone number
Test call set up.
If Microphone and Loudspeaker /soundcard tests
Invite for conference.

Since now using Vonage,
long time never used YM Voice.

Thanks for the help.

Indian version of Yahoo messenger does not support the Voice chat. I had to download global version. For future reference I am attaching the screen shot.

Now we have to mention the versions of YM or Yahoo mail.
reg :Yahoo Mail. ( may be out of thread , but useful info)
Another interesting aspect of Yahoo.in. registration ( free version)
You can send and receive messages in Outlook Express and Outlook.

But could not do so with Yahoo International versions. ( free versions)
Info given long back ( I think more than a year back )
