Lightbulb Choice wireless router for BSNL

hey there i was planning on purchasing a wireless router for my BSNL connection.
    i have a budget of 2-2.5k
can any one suggest a good latest model wireless router in this range.

    i.e Company name
    Model type

i want to avoid going to a computer dealer and purchase it from a very famous whole sale merchant for computer spares in pune here. but the problem there is i have to know what exactly to ask for as the dealer provides no customer assistance.

also my brother likes to play online games.
i hada query from him-he wanted to know whether wireless internet will affect his gaming in the sense will he experience more lagg/disconnection due to packet loss etc.
    thank you in advance.

If you have cost as a factor, such an instrument from BSNL will cost Rs. 1600+ tax.

Which is the modem you are using now ?
Which is your tariff plan ?
Is it purchased from BSNL ? or on rental Basis ?
You can ask for a Modem/router with WIFI
    on rent from BSNL.
As mentioned here the cost is Rs 1600/= plus taxes.

    Para two:
If the modem you are using is already owned by you,
buy a WIFI router for about Rs 1500 to Rs 2000/=
    I am using Netgear WGR 614 V6.

    Para three :

    Ping times.
    START RUN type cmd type
    ping www.google.com
    ping www.indiabroadband.net
    or
    the gaming web site.
    Report only the results.
    Mine
    Airtel speed upto 2 Mbps
    modem Ax Mt882
    Netgear WGR614 V6 wifi mode
    laptop Inspiron 8000
    Ping statistics for 208.67.219.230:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 270ms, Maximum = 271ms, Average = 270ms

its ut 300r2u pls tell me will the above netgear router be comaptible with my modem or not.
PS:i was also cheking up on the netgear website i wanted to know what is the range that they have mentioned?
since you already have the router i guess u have a fair idea of the range since i stay in a bunglow of roughly 1500sq.feet and two floors.
will i be able to access internet vai wifi all over the house.
and what is the difference between WGR614 and WGR614L models
are there any spec and price difference?

    YES.

    2. Wireless range :

usually a radius of about 30 to 50 feet ( *conditions apply) is possible.
Placement : position the wifi router at a higher height.
    Concrete/cement walls etc create obstruction/s.

    3. A more powerful wi fi router .
    Highly recommended is Buffalo model/s.
    Example 3 -in One
Buffalo WBMR-G54 Wireless ADSL 2+ Router

    4. A simple test .
If you have a Cordless telephone Page the Base station
from different rooms in your cordless handset.
    ( Power is higher )
or from an open area around the house.

    5. 1500 sq ft AREA ( say 30feet x 50feet divided in two floors )
MAY work. Signal strength could vary.
