Default please help with this Tad 100 ADSL 2.0+

    hi all....
Recently i ordered a bsnl broadband service for my pc and the plan is 500c+. I said them that I wil use my old modem and requested to place the connection at the earliest. connection was done and i am unable to connect to net using this modem. I asked bsnl regarding this and they said since the modem was not directly boght from bsnl office, they were not concerned. One of my friend referred me this site and asked to post a rquest regarding this here...

    I got a TAD100 ADSL2.0+ modem

please reply me at the earliest so that I can enjoy my net.

    Thanks in advance.
    Beebatsam

    and one more thing...
i have my friends modem for which he dont have adapter and the cable. I got an adapter from another friend through which power is available for the modem and a cable from another friend..
is it necessary that all the three should be of the same company or can i manage with these three different combinations ??????

I connected the modem and tried to access net but unable to access.
I even tried typing 192.168.1.1 in my internet explorer home page but the message is "page not found" please suggest me at the earliest

    Update;
    Your PM.

    In your computer :
    Start /network/ LAn/properties
    TCp/Ip
    properties
    select
    Obtain IP address automatically.
    SAVE apply.

Now again check Ip config /all
See whether you can try the modem's IP now
    ( if not 192.168.1.1)

YOU said you have your friend's mo dem ( call it No 2 modem )
    without power adapter and cable.
Wanted the details of this modem
to use it Instead of TAD100

You have said the internet worked perfectly , in your PM.
    Do the same set up.

A rj11 cable with a single pair of wire is connected to
the adsl splitter LINE from the phone junction

From the ADSL splitter a RJ45 cable ( with 8 wires ) with a slightly bigger connector
is connected from Modem port to computer ether net port.

ALL your telephones connected from PHONE port of
    the ADSL splitter

    UT-300R2U ADSL MODEM CONNECTION

Even if you do not purchase the modem from, it BSNL authorities who should configure your modem. If they do not listen, you can complain to higher authorities or tell them that you will do so.

On the backside of your bill, you will find the phone no of Nodal officer and Appellate authority. They are the highest BSNL authorities available to public. Make a call and seek help.

I called them but they are saying that they will extend their help only to those who bought modem directly from their office and not to anyone others...

    Default TAD100 "Bridged" mode.

PPPoE Installation for Bipac 5200S Modem/Router.
    For future reference
Open your IE browser and type 192.168.1.1 (can be 192.168.1.254 )

in the URL. Press ENTER to view the login page..

The default user name is admin and
    the password is also admin.

    The status page will come

    change the PVC to PVC2.

Ensure that the status is Activated by selecting
    the radio button and ensure
the values of VPI=0 and VCI=35,
    the ISP
is set to Bridge Mode and
then the encapsulation is set to
    RFC1483 Bridged IP LLC.

    Ensure that the radio button
    Current Settings
    is selected and then
press RESTART to save and reboot the router.

    Simply Click OK.

    Simply Click OK.

The interface has no log out option and hence click CANCEL and then close the browser subsequently. The modem/router is now set to operate in bridge mode...

Create a PPPoE Connection on the desktop
    (Dialing From the Computer)

    @beebatsam
    For Billion...
    Input : 12V AC, 1A(Minimum
    presume Input to modem.

make your friend happy by testing this unit in your computer.
He has to buy a step down AC transformer
    230VAC ~ Input Output 12 V A.C~ 1Amp
if he takes the modem to the shop
proper plug can be selected for the modem end.
May cost approx Rs 150 to 200/=
