no no i emant 512kbps ~ 64KBPS, i think the cable company here also provides a 300MB 32KBPS but for like Rs150 or 200. I remember long ago when i had a 32kBPs plan, but used to get like 45-50kBps download speed, then after a year the company changed all plans to 64kBps but i still go the same 45kBps. In my area bsnl is way better than cable. Even the cable company's customer service is worse than bsnl. Some months ago i had frequent disconnections in like, every 2 mins, internet 'd get disconnected, and it took them 2 and a half months to figure out the probelm, last month the disconnections again started and changed to bsnl and so far havent seen a disconnection, and i get a download speed of 180-210 kBps, upload speed is like 3 times better but the only problem is the 1.5gB limit, but i think i should manage it. The cable service did provide better pings but frequent disconnections made it unusable.
btw it is almost impossible to watch streaming videos without atleast a 4mbps download speed. youtube videos are manageable but streaming videos have way worse quality and are of a lot more size 'cause of the bad encodings unless you watch content of some high quality providers. People who stream online games usually have a 8mbps+ UPLOAD speed. You need to provide like 4 mbps+ for live uploading and rest is used to connect to the players plus you need to have a pretty powerful cpu that can encode your videos realtime, usually encodings are bad and sizes are more. Maybe you could watch things like news, etc on live streams but the resolution 'd be really bad to be able to watch it without buffer. Anyway you need a unlimited plan to watch streams. Best option is maybe a 4mbps plan with FUP and dont download much in the daytime except for a few minutes of streams?Anyway watching live streams in our country doesn't seem practical to me. You will end up with huge bills maybe..
