Question BSNL Home 500 strange problem !!!

In my last thread http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...onnection.html I have mentioned the problem about frequent disconnection on my Home 500 connection but the problem resolved after 2 days and my internet worked well for last 3 days.

Again from last night I am facing another strange problem, Download speeds in BitTorrent fluctuating too often. For a single torrent the speed first go about 70-80 kbps but after 3-4 mins the speed rapidly falls to about 1-2 kbps stays at that for 2mins and rises again to the previous value. This cycle continues.

I had never experienced this kind of problem before. If anyone had please reply ....

Disable the firewall and check. I had to manually enter the IP to solve a similar problem.

So trackers give you a low speed if you maintain a low ratio. Change upload speed to unlimited and try.

Why the speed would fluctuate ?

Why the similar thing happen to all torrents ? Different torrents have different trackers.

If there is a problem with firewall then uTorrent port checker won't display an
    'OK' message.

    Many people having similar problem.

When I had this problem, my firewall was/is behaving oddly. For torrents, utorrent needs to act as a server and receive connections through open ports. When firewall prevents these connections you will loose speed as the no of connection is low.

It will not take more than one minute to disable firewall and check. I had to restart the system without firewall. If firewall is causing the problem then we can find out this way. If not we can try other options.

Firewall is the main problem, it block most of the peers from connecting to us and thus not get full speed.....
it also happened with me that time i was using Norton Firewall...
when i stopped the firewall the speed increased........
