Unhappy e-mail alerts for exceeding download limits.

Can anyone please help me if there is anything like e-mail alerts available for exceeding BSNL broadband limits? I am on 250pl and thats for ahmedabad. If there is anything available, can you please help me how to set it up?

    Thanks in advance.

    1) If you are using Firefox, you can use the Datafox add-on for Firefox web browser to keep yourself updated with your usage details.
After installing and configuring it, it will regularly update your usage from the Dataone portal automatically.

Here is the link to the Datafox add-on: Datafox

    2) You can use the just launched Web Registration for Broadband Usage Alert facility by BSNL: Web Registration for Usage Alerts
It is said to give you both E-mail updates and Mobiles updates (SMS).

    3)
You can also use any of the Bandwidth monitoring tools also to update yourself with your usage. But, it may be a little or more different from what Dataone records. But, it can give you a fair idea as to how much you might have used.
ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter is a good bandwidth monitoring tool. You can download it here: ShaPlus

Your BSNL email ID will receive a mail alert when you cross the usage limit.
The worst thing is that neither BSNL nor the employees during installation give any information about this. I think you have an option to divert this to your email id.

The best idea is use a bandwidth meter like Shaplus. But the value may differ slightly. So please leave a gap of 50 MB and counter check with BSNL site.

Please use this link for download.

    Hi there,

I got registered for Web Registration for Broadband Usage Alert facility by BSNL. when I opened bbusage.exe today, it showed me 380 MB. What does it mean? Does it mean I have used 380 MB data for this month? or does it mean that I got just 380 MB data left?

    Your answers greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Data left for usage = Monthly limit - 380 MB

Another user also faced a similar problem. It seems only username@bsnl.in users can register for this facility.

But I think you will get email alerts on your username@dataone.in . This is available for username@bsnl.in users. If you have this facility, you can change settings to divert it to your regular id.
