    Default 450BXI settings

    hello all,

i have wireless setup at home with 2 machines [with wireless cards] and use net access via beetel router.

i use this router for 2 purpose; 1 is to enable file sharing between machines and 2 to use internet on both machines

when im done with my net access and if i switch off the router then i loose the wireless connectivity.

so i need to know that how do i disconnect the internet from router and continue to use the wireless feature.

there are few settings in router which i checked but didnt try as i dont know so i have attached the image of the section [notice the red circle].

i also found out some notes from net that tells about these settings. here they are

Dial on DemandThe Dial on Demand feature is used to automatically disconnect the router from your ISP when there is no activity for a specified period of time. For instance, placing a checkmark next to this option and entering 5 into the minute field will cause the router to disconnect from the Internet after 5 minutes of no Internet activity. This option should be used if you pay for your Internet service by the minute.

#. If you want your Router to connect to the Internet every time a PC needs
to access it, check the Dial on Demand checkbox. If this box is not
checked, then you will have to manually connect and disconnect using
the buttons on the Home Screen (see page 39).

#. If you want your Router to automatically disconnect from the Internet
automatically after a period of inactivity, specify a time in the Idle Time
(Minutes) field. Enter a value of 0 to disable this timeout.

i need some responses from other users who have tried these settings OR how to setup internet connection with wireless connectivity ON.

I think you are using PPPoE/Always ON mode. By changing this into a dialler/bridge mode, you can disconnect the internet using dialler and sustain wireless router.

    1. Choose the option "Manual Connect"

    2. You must have an option to "Disconnect" / "Connect" Internet in your modem page. From where you can disconnect or connect your Internet whenever you want. But Wireless will still continue to work
