    Question Strange Problem

I am using 3000 Business Plan. for last a week i m experiencing a new problem.. whnever i am trying to download some file from file sharing site, the download starts normally but it hangs after some time. suppose i am downloading a movie which is 95 MB in size, i started downloading, it starts normally, but after some times it stops downloading and constant on 86% or 11% or whtever, no activity at all. this way i am losing my bandwidth and getting none downloaded.
NO effect after changing the PC, Browser or Download accelerators.. The problem is still the same.
Anyone have any idea, why this happens??

Could be realted with that particular site. Please try another website and update. Switch off the modem. Switch on and try again.

Have you moved to firewall recently. Please shutdown and try.

For Rapishare, you can use Rapidshare Manager. It can resume even if the download failed half the way. Click here to download.

Mega upload also has a similar software.

It means you cannot download big files, irrespective of the website.

I guess you face Internet discontinuity problem. Can you run below command parallely when you do download a large file from micorosoft.com?

    ping microsoft.com -t > d:\check.txt

This redirects all your ping responses to a text file. Choose the drive which is applicable for you.

Keep this file running and when your download is stopped, check the file for any "Request Timeout" entries.

If there is any "Request Timeout" entries, then it means you have Internet discontinuity problem.

    Ok.
But i am taking about continous ping and parallel check .You mentioned that you have tried all options of changing system, os, browser and all. even you said no firewall defined.

So do this continous ping parallely with large file download.

    When this happens
    select CTRL+ALT+DEL
    open Task Manager.
see which application is not responding
    and the CPU usage.
Uncheck all applications not required ,
    Could be memory problem also.
which appear in the task bar.

    Mention the modem/model .

I am using 3000 Business Plan and ZTE ZXDSL531B DSL Modem.
But i m quite sure there is no MTU settings in this modem.

today i tried downloading large files using UBUNTU... i was shocked seeing the download speed..Also i downloaded large files without any problem..
but still the question...why windows not able to download??
SP1, SP2, SP3 all editions of XP failed to do so..
Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this problem..

It seems you tried changing almost everything, but i suspect u have tried changing your moden, If u hav'nt, the problem might be something related to some settings in your modem [I can be wrong] like firewall or something like that... So i advice you to Reset your modem to factory default and try setting it up again.......

    Default dynamic IP

This problem might be due to DYNAMIC IP address....check if ur IP address is dynamic or static.
