Default Unable to save Static IP address in TCP/IP

    hello guys..

    i have a home 500 plan..

i access it through a desktop which is connected through wire to the router (WA3002G4) and a laptop which connects to the router wirelessly..the router is configured in PPoE mode.

i also use vuze(azureus), on my laptop, for my torrents and for that i had to port forward so that there are no NAT issues..

For port forwarding ,i had to create a static ip address, and so i configured my TCP/IP settings.

Now the problem is everytime I restart my laptop, those settings are reset to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS servers automatically".

here are the details of my tcp/ip configurations..
    DESKTOP:
    ip address : 192.168.1.3
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.1.1

    preferred DNS server: 218.248.255.146
    alternative DNS server: 218.248.255.139

    LAPTOP:
    ip address : 192.168.1.4
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.1.1

    preferred DNS server: 218.248.255.146
    alternative DNS server: 218.248.255.139

also while port forwarding..the router has been configured to port forward 65500 port at 192.168.1.4

what might be the problem? and how might i over this??

    1) Please search the forums before posting new threads for help.
Please check: http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...-wa3002g4.html (Port Forwarding in WA3002G4)
You'll most probably get your answer from that thread.

    2) Make sure you follow every step, and "Save/Apply" the settings.

I had already searched the forum for this particular problem and since i could not find A particular solution..i had posted a new thread here.. even then the problem had persisted..

Also i had followed all the instructions as per the given URL, for setting up my network and am thankful for those posts....

the irony is that i got the solution myself.. the software handling my tcp/ip configurations was not taken care by the windows!!! (yes i was surprised too..). it is taken care of a 3rd party software which came along with my laptop..
So had to change the settings there..

anyways..thanks for the help... appreciate it..
