Rep Power: 1 | @vijaykhairnar I could not find the auto sync up mode in the modem configuration page. Maybe your modem type is different. Mine is type 4 DNA A211. When I selected ADSL type as Annex L, the DSL light kept on blinking and did not stabilize and so I could not connect to the internet. @essbebe I tried the speedtest at all times of the day including at 12 am, 3 am and 6 am. There is little or no difference in the speeds. I got a maximum of 850kbps in dataone.in I already posted both the speedtest screenshot and the ADSL page screenshot as attachments. Check the post #9 in this thread. I attached the screenshots again to this post for your convenience. I already made online complaint at the link 4 times. The first two times they called me up everyday to enquire whether the problem was fixed (without doing anything) and the last two times i think they deleted my complaint or marked it as spam. As I already said, I tried my own modem at my neighbour's home and I got 2mbps at his home. So there is no fault with the modem. |

| Write a complaint to Nodal officer and Appellate authority with receipt. Address and phone no on the back side of your bill. When you give a written complaint to these officials, they are bound to take action. You can talk to them in person and seek help. Since your modem gives a good speed at your friend, it is BSNL's error and you have limited sources to solve it. A visit in person can do magic. Please consider. |

Rep Power: 2 | @adi420 do what the meetdilip say, otherwise you can not solve your problem. The problem not from your side, fault from the BSNL side. |

Rep Power: 1 | I had emailed the nodal officer twice but did not get any reply from him. I think I have to go and meet him personally now. Last edited by adi420; 05-27-09 at 08:59 PM. Reason: update |

Ask your friend how did they know they are having 2mbps speed. They have done their speed test from Dataone WebMail website which is from a BSNL server and always shows 2mbps speed. Ask them to do their speed test from Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and hear what they say. They will not get 2mbps speed. Average download speed for your connection is 512kbps - 1mbps during daytime and 256 - 512kbps during free night hours. | |

Rep Power: 2 | Every time the speed tests show different speed from both the websites. The range is 500kb to 2.5mb. The Dataone Webmail always shows more speed than Speedtest.net. |

| Don't believe dataone webmail. Speedtest.net is more accurate. You can also try a download from Microsoft. They have one of the best servers. |

Rep Power: 1 | Thanks for replying to my post. I received the final call from a SDE at BSNL today. He told me that BSNL guarantees only 256 kbps and the upper limit is based on locality. He said that if there are more customers in an exchange, the speed gets divided and only very few lucky people get upto 2 mbps speed. By his words, I thought he meant that none of the persons who got connection from the same exchange got above 1 mbps which is absolute BULL$H1T. But I have come to realize that BSNL will be BSNL and there is no way to change it. I am unlucky and have to adjust with this speed. He actually told me that complaining anymore wont help. They wont do anything. |

| Written complaint with receipt to Appellate authority and Nodal officer. Address and phone no on the backside of your phone bill. Try it. It may work. |

| It is not the time for total disinvestment. There are many areas still do not have at least a land line. They cannot disinvest at this point. Private players has no interest in development. They will stick to cities. |
