The USB driver is not compatible with Windows 7.

Try connecting via LAN RJ-45 port. No driver will be required.

after installing windows 7, can you see the USB ports as being properly setup? you can find this in hardware / device manager.
    <<Win_Key>> + <<Break_Key>>

i think that win7 has not properly installed your USB drivers. try using it with ethernet (LAN).

    PROBLEM installing
USBdrivers for Modem in Windows 7 RC1.

    @jaiminHP
1.Please mention the modem model and make.
( Probably you may need VISTA compatible drivers )

    2. Uninstall the USB driver you had installed.

    3. remove LAN cable and or USB cable from modem.

    4. Now Download the USB driver for the modem to say
C:/usbdriver modem from CD if supplied or from the web.

    5. Now connect the USB cable to computer

    6. restart the system

    7. Windows 7 should detect new hardware and ask for
    drivers.

    8
    follow procedure.

    9.
At one stage you may get message ' digitally not signed"

    10. If still error message is received
    give feedback here.

    11. Was the USB mode for modem working earlier with your earlier OS ? XP Home or Pro or VISTA ?

    Hi,

I had tried as per your suggesions but no success. My Modem is UT300R2U.

I have Windows XP SP3 and Windows 2003 server. Both working fine with BSNL Modem.

1.You have not mentioned whether you got any error message.
    when trying with windows 7.

2.If the USB drivers were working in other Windows OS
    Open the properties page and

    3.see whether option to use
    "compatability" mode is available.

    4. Sometimes the default usb drivers
    of Windows also work !
    Select them and try.

    Update;
Searched for USb modem for Ut300r2U for Windows 7.
Difficult to get for this very old modem.
    2,
found a link to use in Compatibility mode programs used with older versions of Windows.
    No hope for USB drivers.

    3. As suggested here , better use LAN port/ethernet card.

I tried LAN card but when I try to make connection with it LED of LAN Card did not blink. What does it mean ?
Is my modem faulty or LAN card is faulty or the Cable has fault ?

    Smile

If the Usb Driver is not compatiable with Windows 7
you may try running/installing the USB driver in the Windows XP compatibility mode available in Windows 7

    (a) In modem go the diagnostics page and check status.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/attach...-oam5-fail.jpg

    (b)Lancard with LED:
    Start network LAN properties
    TCP/IP

On top of the page your ethernet card is listed
    "Configure"
Check whether "enabled" check drivers etc.

    (c)UT-300R2U ADSL MODEM MENU
See the diagram ( 1st menu item ) and ensure
    proper connections.

    (d) post ipconfig /all data
start tun type cmd type ipconfig /all

it should say " connected" as soon as you plug in the card. it could be your LAN cable mostly.. go to device manager and see if you find an red cross marks or yellow question marks.
