Thread: Bsnl night unlimited ...plz help !!

Hello everyone ... Im new to this place.

I wanted to clarify whether BSNL would charge me if i switch on my modem at 6. am and use the free download hours ...and then switch it off before 8 am .

Is it necessary that u need to switch on the Modem at 2 am itself like some people say .. because i dont have many things to download ..

A needless worry. . Relax.

For any time between 2 AM to 8 AM (BSNL server clock, and not your clock), you can:

a) switch on your modem
b) switch off your modem
c) use the internet

You will not be charged at all.

The many other posts talk about switching on at 2 AM because they want to maximize on the free download window.

You can choose any start time and stop time if it falls between 2.01 am and 7.59 pm.

In your case, 6.00 am to 7.50 am is quite safe. You can automatically disconnect the modem at 7.50 am if you feel you may forget to do it.

To use this method, you need a dialler and need to be in Bridge mode.

Procedure :

Step 1

Open notepad type the following
rasdial [connection name] /disconnect
for example
rasdial broadband /disconnect
save the above file as disconnect.bat


Step 2

1. Go to START>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SCHEDULE TASK
Schedule task wizard will start>click next


2. Click "Browse" and select "disconnect.bat"


3. Type the task name (anything you want) and then select "Daily".


Click Next.


Now set the time to 7.50 a.m.


Set Everyday from the Perform this task option right below that and start date to today's date.
