Thread: please help

i have a broadband connection from bsnl. all the lights are steady but the net is not connected in my laptop. it shows local only. its not connecting to the net. im using vista. i saw another thread with the same issue but did not understand. please help.

In your computer
Start
RUN
type
cmd
click OK
a new page will open
type ipconfig /all

Copy the data and post here.

Para two::
Mention your modem/model and make.
Any time the Broadband connection worked ?
Do you connect using a "Dialer" or, the
connection is " always On" and BB
connected automatically.

Para three:
Try this
Open your Browser IE/FireFox/Opera/GoogleChrome etc.
In the address bar
type
192.168.1.1 ( *most used Modem address )
When a page opens
enter UserId admin( *usually)
Password admin (*usually)
A new page with menu will appear.

Click " Diagnostics"

thanks for the reply. the thing is im at a cafe. and i cant get the details. when i tried to ping i got many commands saying media disconnected.

im using it only to connect to m laptop. the broadband is connected automatically. i had this problem once, i uninstalled and re-insalled modem and it worked. this time its not working. im able to get other connections to work on the laptop.

i faintly remember the modems name its something like mak yvkon or something.
