For heavy downloading, choose from Home 500, 500 C and 500 C+

Type 1 - 4 used to be a earlier mode of classification. Now there are only 2 of them. One without wireless connection, cost Rs.1000 + tax. Instrument with wireless (wifi) facility, Rs. 1600 + tax.

I use Type 1 modem without wireless/wifi. My modem is Nokia Siemens C 2110.

Please avoid bold letters. I have seen mods classifying them as shouting.

Certain types of mobile handsets can use wireless internet through a wifi (wireless) router. It purely depends on your model whether it can access net through a wifi router. Please search this forum and you will find similar queries by Nokia handset users. Most of them were able to connect using BSNL wifi router.

A wifi router is a device which allows you to connect your devices commonly laptops, PDAs and advanced gadgets (including mobile phone) which support wifi internet connectivity. Such an instrument cost Rs. 1600 + tax with BSNL.

Please go through

I got a ITI DNA-A211-I (4 Eth + 1 Wi-Fi) Router Manufactured by FLEXTRONICS on box MRP 1391/- inclusive of taxes.

Then how come BSNL is charging more than MRP.

My source is mentioned above. I had to depend that table from BSNL as the price varies from time to time. I hope your's from a third party vendor.

Unable to find any varaition in the BSNL site. Please check here under modem charges.
