Default Need info for new connection...

    Hi All,
I am planning to apply for BSNL connection and have plenty of questions here.

    1) Only for browsing(mail checking etc.), Is the 500/- plan is enough? Approx. haw many hrs per day I can use the internet, any idea? Or should I go for ul 750/- plan because changing the tariff plan in BSNL is a nightmare.

    2) I have D-Link wifi router which I purchased just 2months ago. And I do have 256kbps modem in my laptop. Do I still need to get the modem from BSNL? Or they will give the connection using my own modem or router?

    3) For documentation address proof, 2 photos, Id-proof(Like DL, PAN card etc.), Application form filled. Do I need to submit anything other then this?

    4) I am taking this connection in brookfield near COSMOS mall(bangalore), So how is their service these If anybody using in that area(Near Ryan International school).

    Please give your valuable inputs.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Shiv

If you are a basic user and usage is limited to checking mails and basic functions. You can choose Home -250. An hour of internet browsing will consume 15 - 20 MB. Home 250 offers 1 GB limit. Please note, if you listen to music or YouTube videos, the usage will be much higher.

    Unlikely.
And I do have 256kbps modem in my laptop.
1.Usually laptops have the old 56Kbps dialup fax/voice modem, for dialup internet connection at speed avg 2 to 4 KB/sec.a

2.ADSL modems are not built in.
if you have try to access the modem's settings pages
    Post device status details.

    3. You may have a small Wireless LAN adapter either in the left or right side of your laptop.

    4.
    D-Link wifi router
    If it is a combined adslmodem/router/wifi 3 in 0ne.
to check mention and model number.
( If there is Phone port Adsl modem is built in )

    feedback.

    @shiv.singh
Can anybody give me information about my 2nd question????
No response/ feedback from you since 0730 AM/25th
    May.
If nobody responds to you, the thread will go to bottom of the page or go to page 2 , and
your query/problem/ may not be solved,
as regular members normally see see latest posts.

    see my settings;

    REQUEST
To all new members also posting in this forum.

Please see USERCP at the top.
and enable your options to get email notification ,
    whenever
a reply is posted to a thread you have started or
    posted comments.

This will help in solving problem/s ( if any)
    or provide information fast, depending
    on your feedback.

Now other members, have to guess, and surmise
the information , and there is danger of the
    thread going "OFF TRACK".

@moderator: I feel this should be DEFAULT setting for all
new members till they post say 15 or 50 posts.

I never received a mail when someone posted an answer to my query. For some forums it is default. But if we enable it for posting, it will be difficult to answer the threads. If we post in more threads, our mailbox will be flooded with emails. It will be ok if the email notification is only for the thread starter. Other can opt for it if they wish.
