Unhappy Any way to change BSNL ip address ?

I'm on BSNL Home 500 plan for last 2yrs. The dynamic ip's BSNL give me starts with 59.xx.xxx.xxx. But recently I have seen many torrent sites like Mininova , Piratebay banning Indian ip's starting with 59. But I have heard that new BSNL ip's which starts with 117.xxx.xx.xx works fine on those sites.I cannot upload new torrents and I can't even register at those sites because they are saying my IP is banned.

Any way I could inform BSNL to change my IP from 59.xx.xxx.xxx to 117.xxx.xx.xx ?????

Please check with your exchange. For a user, IP was changed to 117.xxx.xx.xx from 59.xx.xx.xx after plan change. So it should be possible.

    Not possible.
Your UserID will be abcd @ dataone.in
    which has IP as 59.xx.xx.xx
    with IP 117.xx.xx.xx you get
    abcd @ bsnl.in

I suggest , you apply for a new connection
with zero rental for telephone ..
    500C+ will be suitable.
    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

Since you would like to retain the old telephone number,
surrender the Home 500 BB plan. from June 1st.

A bit caution is advised while using proxies. All of them are not trustworthy.

While using ultrasurf will our IP changed during downloading torrents ?

Please check with your exchange about port binding. If your connection does not have port binding, others can use your user name and password to login. If I am correct 59.xxx.xxx.xxx IPs are not port binded.

I am not an expert, but there are a few out there. Since this facility is available, it will be wise to try it.

Yes what you are saying is correct. They should know your username and password, but you should also be knowing that we can retrieve your username and password without your knowledge (if you are in PPPoE mode ie Always on). Yes we can easily get the username and password of others. So do take care and ask for port binding as meetdilip has advised.

It is possible, BSNL has made a policy decision to allot 59.xx.xx.xx to new users , as well as old users migrating to some tariff plans. or because of availability in their NIB1 servers .

Sorry. I am a nobody & cannot issue guarantee about BSNL Broadband affairs .
Also beyond the scope as a member of this forum.

59.x.x.x are port binded , maybe not all , but definetly quite a lot of them..

be prepared for port forwarding , its 90% certain..

Ok no problem. I ll explain as much as i know about it.

Port binding is a facility where your username will be bound to the port in the BSNL exchange from where you are getting your line to home. So once it is done your username cannot be accessed from an other ports, only your port will be allowed to access it.

To confirm if port binding is activated or not just go to any of your friends home (who has BSNL BB) from his/her line using your username try to connect to internet if it connects then your line is not port bound, if you get an error message that confirm your username or password then your line is safe.

If you dont have friend or if it is not port bound then go to your exchange and ask the senior officer there ( if possible the head of the office) to enable port binding and they will do it, usually they wont ask for any application but if asked then give it. It will be done free of cost and from then you will be safe.
