One more query while restringing at http://bbusage.bsnl.in/ the "Broadband Username:" what should be the format..? xxxxx@dataone.in OR xxxxxx@bsnl.in (xxxxx the one which they provided as User ID).

Is that same for this site tooo...?

You should use the 14 character portal id to login to bbservice.bsnl.in (NIB II). Yes its same for data.bsnl.in/wps/portal as well. The username you have mentioned is your broadband username. It is used to connect to internet.

If you are on NIB I (59.x.x.x ip range) then i guess you can use your broadband username (username alone) to login. But i am not sure about NIB-I

oops sorry i overlooked the link "bbusage.bsnl.in". I have not seen this before.. hope somebody can shred some light on this ??

    Try this

4 Ways to Check BSNL Broadband Usage Details

BSNL has 2 IDs. One is Portal ID, which we need to use to log in and other is user name used for PPPoE mode.

Since your connection is new, you should be in NIB 2 and your IP will start with 117.xx.xx.xx. To check your IP, try speedtest.net.

data.bsnl.in, bbservice and bbusage are BSNL portals serving similar purpose.

In bbusage.bsnl.in you need to give only the xxxxx part, no need for @bsnl.in/@dataone.in.
You need the full ID including @ part to acces your email account. It will be either @bsnl.in or @dataone.in. If you want to know, in which catogory your account falls, contact someone at your exchange or you can see it in the usage information portal.

did you mean bbservice.bsnl.in ? because in the site bbusage.bsnl.in, its written you should enter broadband username eg:-user@bsnl.in.

since you mentioned , change your default MODEM password , its set to admin , change it..
use a security option (WEP,WPA ) for your wifi network

Yes there is an alert facility provided. I have registered there and got a weekly sms alert 2 weeks back, but not after that.

It seems as if at http://bbusage.bsnl.in/ users with xxxxx@bsnl.in and xxxxx@dataone.in can register but users with xxxx@dataone.in cant used the Web Client

Web Client wont accept the xxxx@dataone.in format user

Here the user name for logging to Internet (without @????.in) is to be given. I have registered there and got one SMS alert with the usage detail (though 3 weeks have passed there no further alert so far).

Could be a line problem. Please post the status of your modem LEDs. While you wait for tips, please make a call to BSNL office and check for any line complaint. It is always a good practice to register a complaint.

Mention you modem - model and make

Start > Run > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.
