What do you exactly want? You want to prevent your number from being displayed on the called party's caller-id display? You will have to talk to BSNL for that.

there is no way for a user to prevent his calling line id NOT to be sent to the called party. forget or try to become a VIP like CM, PM, District magistrate, chief justice, Commissioner of Police, etc

what I meant was, for the originating calls, one cant stop the CLI unless the receiving party doesn't want.

By application, he could perhaps stop incoming CLI.

Try these . May not work for BSNL.
Block Your Outgoing Caller ID - Protect your privacy

Before you dial your desired number, you have the ability to block your number to the party you are calling. You can activate the Caller ID blocking feature on a per call basis or on all calls.

To block your number on a per call basis:

1.Pick up the phone and dial *67.

2.You will then hear a stutter dial tone followed by a regular tone -- this indicates that the command code was recognized.

3.Proceed to make your call. The party you are calling will see an “Anonymous” on their called ID instead of your name or number.

To deactivate Caller ID blocking on a per call basis:

1.Pick up the phone handset and dial *82.

    2.Hang up the phone handset.

    Usage Notes:

The next call you make will NOT block your Caller ID since this service code is for a single call only.

To block your number on all outgoing calls:

1.Pick up the phone and dial *95

2.You will then hear a stutter dial tone followed by a regular tone – this indicates that the command code was recognized.

3.Proceed to make your call. The party you calling will see an “Anonymous” on their caller ID instead of your name or number.

To deactivate Caller ID blocking on all calls:

1.Pick up the phone handset and dial *96.

    2.Hang up the phone handset.
2.Or an external CallerId unit attached to Phone
    may have this facility

    3. Tried on a Telephone having Caller ID facility.
    Only engaged tone received.

Based on my knowledge, only privileged persons have the option to block line identification.
