Thread: Need help connecting PS3 to Dataone BSNL broadband

Hello
I bought a playstation3 2 days back. And i have a dataone broadband in my house plan 500C for my PC.
How do we connect to internet from playstation 3 using the dataone connection ?
Note that i DONT wanna use both pc and ps3 simultaneously . I just need internet on my PS3 . thats enough.

Please tell me what do i need to do for that step by step ? Is there something i have to configure in the modem and ps3 ?

How do we give username and password in ps3 like how we give in a computer while connecting . Does wi-fi modem needs this kind of authentication too ? ?

yes wifi modem will work.. you need to configure your modem in pppoe mode and enable DHCP server..

Honestly..this piece of **** method of posting and even replies getting approved by the moderator is the worst thing i ve ever seen on internet..I submitted two replies regarding my post two days back. And its not approved till now..when do u want me to see that ? december 2012 ? ? where else would u need to wait to be approved and wait for days for something that could be resolved in 5-10 min ? ? The mods are just wasting their time and mine.

Mods have many other tasks. Keeping spam out is the major part of that. Your user status shows "User awaiting email confirmation".

You need to take your own actions first.

....Please mention the modem/router model/make
.....you are presently using.

.......Click on top of this page USERCP.

.........Go through various options and select
......... and select EDIT options .
Check mark enable instant email notification.
If not already done for checking responses to your post.

Should i take a brand new wi-fi modem from BSNL or should i go for other routers in the market like linksys or dlink or netgear ? ? well almost all are the same , but you may not have a choice when you go to a bsnl office , they usually keep one of each type , so you may just find one brand of wifi modem..bsnl modems are good enough.. yes configuring is required.. its not that tough..dont worry.

yah u r right dude, BSNL is good for nothing!

i bought that modem from BSNL . initially i was told i would be having one ethernet port and wireless for the modem. But it turned out there are 4 ethernet ports on that.
And its working fine for my laptop , but its getting heated up rapidly ..say in 5-10 min
