The speed what you are getting is perfect.

The upload speed in ADSL technology of BSNL is very less, there are some users here itself who are also in the same plan and they have the upload speed of only around 50 kbps. Try not to alter anything or the download may affect, however just upload your SNR and Attenuation ratio from your router and will tell you if there is anything you can do.

If you are getting 200 KBps, I will say you are lucky amongst many members here. Many are struggling to get such a good speed. Check your firewall settings. Or disable it and try. Some firewalls cause less upload speed. But overall your speed is very good.

Upload speed is usually one fourth of the download speed. And it is sometimes capped to 512 kbps. This is for Home plans and done deliberately by design. Upload speed (or download speed for that matter) cannot be increased.

actually, as compared to uploading data, downloading data is understood mostly to be on the higher side, hence, upload rate is affixed much more less than that of downloading. On the other hand, by lessening upload speed, download speed will increase. this is as I heard and however, if it is not true then I beg pardon. Anybody having more knowledge may confirm, I will be obliged.

    BSNL offers ADSL Connection

    ADSL - Asymmetric DSL Connection

Upload and Download are not symmetric.

But there is no special constrain that upload = 1/4th of Download or 1/8th download Speed.

ADSL is an asymmetric technology giving different rates in “down” and “up” directions. This is perfectly fine since we download(browsing, downloading clips, music etc) much more than we upload(a website address, a few clicks etc)

its because, that your machine is not same as the machine of the isp...and the protocols and ports are all different for both the machines at the isp and your desktop..thats why the dl and ul speeds are diff

    Cool

Thats true...with Any ISP provider.......Even in direct optical cable connections that they are providing in foreign countries....

The upload speed is always less than the Download speeds....unk:

They always keep it about 1/4th of Download....As they assume that you will be more of downloading the requests you made....As compared to the request or query you sent.....However...we tend to suffer as of thar in context with Torrents...wher as of low upload speeds....We seed and upload data at slower rate...
Thats why in todays date speedboxes are becoming so popular you see....

    Anyways ...best of luck,....

    Regards....:001_tongue:
