    go into diagnose..
and if you get options reset modem., click it..it will work..

its after you have connected to the network,,

Having the same trouble, the sites are opening very slow, although download speed is fine

Earlier it was'nt opening any site, now the sites are opening but at too damn slow rate.

    1.IN TCP/IP properties disable IPV6.

2 Mention modem/router model you use.

    3.Post ipconfig /all data.

    Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at rlslog.in.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

    * Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
    * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
    * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

this is wht i get ...

this is just a sample.. nearly 7 out of 10 sites are getting this error..

    disabled ipv6

does it really change the browsing speed using OPEN DNS...

i really doubt because it has to go through the slow bsnl servers ...

Guys I am facing the same damn problem. The torrents work fine but the pages fail to open and the issue is intermittent , it comes and goes.

I am using windows xp with sp3 and it seems that sp3 users have been facing a lot of dns issues.

It can also be a problem with my netgear wga 111v2 wireless adapter but I am unable to upgrade firmware as the current firmware, though very old, gives me a stable connection. Upgrading f/w would meant frequent connection drops making browsing /downloading next to impossible. So upgrading NIC firmware is out for me .

Are you people still facing these issues??

When DNS is down and I try to launch firefox in the machine all I get is a white screen . But as soon as the DNS starts working it opens smoothly and then everything works hunkie dorie. So it has got to be the DNS !!

Frequency of DND problem varies with no DNS problems some days to twice -thrice in half an hour. Wonder whats going on ???

Hmmm , but I am using a wireless network. So i guess I will be entering this in my wireless router and not in the workstation right ?

Control panel > newtork connections > local area connection > properties > TCP /Ip properties > You will find a window similar to the screen shot.
