I changed it to Home 500 C+ after six months because I found that I was exceeding limits by small margin. The excess usage used to cost me around Rs. 250 and hence I thought, C+ plan was better suited to me.
As far as your requirement is considered:
a) This plan may be just sufficient for your usage.
b) Note that usage means download + upload. Everybody forgets about upload when they are browsing - they think (mistakenly) that since they are just browsing, they are not uploading anything.
c) Based on my personal experience, my recommendation is, opt for Home 500 C+ plan (256 kbps~2 mbps, 2.5 GB usage limit, 50 free calls, etc.)first. See how usage occurs. Change to Home 500 C, if you are staying within 1.5 GB limit.
Some advice:
a) Relegate all your heavy downloads during 2 AM to 8 AM. Do not forget to reboot your modem during those times.
b) By using firefox add-on's such as AdBlock plus, Flashblock plus, etc., you can potentially save at least 400 MB per month
c) Turn off automatic updates. Schedule them instead between 2 AM and 8 AM.
d) Constant keep a watch on your usage record from the BSNL portal.
