Cnnfigure your modem to PPPoE mode ie. user id and password stored in Modem. For connecting just need to switch on the Modem.

You can create a batch file and schedule it run during start up. It is simple. Take a notepad, type the code, save as batch file, include in start up.

    1)

    Open notepad, type the following:

rasdial [connection name] [user name] [password]

    Eg. rasdial bsnl myusername mypassword

save the above file as connect.bat

Include in start up.The username and password as the same you use
    in your dialler.

    Hope it helped.

Set your computer IP address as 192.168.1.2
( If you are using USB port, install USB driver first)

Open Internet Explorer in the Address bar type the URL http://192.168.1.1

You will be propted for Username and Password.

    Username: admin

    Password: admin

    Click on Home

    Click on WAN setting

Your WAN Setting should be as follows:

    PVC No.: PVC0

    Wan type: PPP

    Connection Type : PPPoE

    VPI / VCI : 0/35

    Default Route : Enabled

    Username: yourusername@dataone

    Password: yourpassword

    Use DNS : Enabled

    Click on Apply.

You will be asked to save and reboot.

    Select Yes

Once your modem is rebooted , the summary page will be displayed .

The "Green" status of PVC0 status indicated that you are now connected. (in Summary page)

SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem ADSL LED will turn 'Orange' from 'green' when succesfully connected.

    follow instructions inPost No 5
enter user ID without @ data one .in or @ bsnl.in
    Feed back
if a "NOTE" icon appears in Summary page.
Which you may have to click even though connection
    button shows "Green".

    Method 1:

If you're using a RAS / PPPOE connection for Internet, and wish to automatically connect to your ISP at startup, you may use Rasdial utility, built-in with Windows XP.

Usage: Open a Command Prompt window and type:

    Rasdial <connectoid> "username" "password"
This would initiate a dial-up/PPPoE connection to your ISP. You can create a batch file with the above parameters and place it in your Startup folder, so that XP dials to your ISP automatically at every startup. If you don't prefer to enter the password in the batch file, use the following command-line (XP will prompt you for a password - secure)

    Rasdial <connectoid> "username" *
NOTE: Type Rasdial.exe /? in the Command Prompt to learn more about this command, it's other parameters.

    Method 2:

Get PPPoE in Windows XP to connect automatically on boot
    1. Go to Control Panel and open "Network Connections"
    2. Right click on your broadband connection icon and select "Properties"
    3. Uncheck "Prompt for name and password..."
    4. Click on "OK"
    5. Open your "C:/Documents and settings" folder
    6. Open the "All Users" folder
    7. Open the "Start Menu" folder
    8. Open the "Programs" folder
    9. Go to your Programs Folder -> Startup
    10. Copy a short-cut of your Broadband Connection, from the Network Connections folder in to the "Startup" folder.

I think using rasdial is better than configuring the modem to be ALWAYS ON. Having modem always ON might cause some problem for those who are for night unlimited coz of the kindoff erratic BSNL billing issue.

Use rasdial and add to windows startup. its better.. FOR ME AT LEAST! :001_tongue:

Default BSNL Broadband Automatically Connect at Windows Startup

    Hi,

I am using Windows XP and BSNL Type I modem ( Siemens C2110 ) for the broadband connection. ISP has set it up as bridging but I want it to be on PPoE wherein I dont need to connect manually.

Have tried the modem setting but I am unable to do so. Can anyone help me with a step by step setting that I can incorporate in the Modem so that it can use the PPoE and connect automatically. Screen shots of the same would also be highly appreciated.

Also to let you all know, when I selected the PPoE connection the data light on the modem started to work. The same does not work on bridging connection.

    Thanks in advance.

    Please try

C2110 (Type-A) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION

It is quite normal. The data LED do not blink in bridge mode.

Also see for other useful information :
    C2110 dataone modam configuration(BSNL Broadband)

In "Always On" connection, Your UserID and
Password are stored in the modem.

You have to uncheck "Bridged' in WAN page
    and select PPP/PPPoE
Enter userID without @ bsnl.in PW etc.
