1) Eventhough I have not tested it, I have often heard that one won't be much successful trying to install Windows drivers using Wine. But, you can surely try it out in Wine if you want.
2) You should get drivers for Linux. That would be the best solution.![]()

Broken link
1) Did you read the first point of my first reply in this thread?
2) I don't think that you will get an 'official' USB driver of your modem. If you can use the LAN connection, that will be better and safe.
3) You may want to check if Ndiswarpper works for you. I am not really experienced with this. If you can make use of it, then it will be good.
4) If you can't bear/use it, then you may like to check out VirtualBox, which can surely solve your problem.![]()
Thanx Dhanesh Let me try.
Actually Iam using my LAN card but it's for my friend, his computer don't have LAN card. I know it is better to purchase an ethernet card, but the problem is something different he has two systems one laptop and one Desktop, sharing broadband. One through USB (Desktop) and the other through Ethernet Card.. Purchasing one switch and a LAN card can solve the problem, but the cost of switch is around Rs 800-1000.
Quite understandable.
Check them out and please reply (Don't leave the thread if it is solved). Since this is one of many common problems, we can give a proper answer later on, if you get it right.![]()
Certainly...Will come back with result.
i guess i was really lucky when my ut300r2u worked out of the box in ubuntu via USB![]()
