    thats because u havent setup the modems ip address...
    right click on the icon that shows low connectivity.. and then click on the "properties"
    and then click on the ip address and click on internet protocol and setup teh ip address as..
    192.168.1.2
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1

    use OPEN DNS to get a stable connection.. its my advice...

    The link in the previous post will help you assign IP and DNS manually. It is rich with screen shots. Please read before ignoring an answer.

    @meetdilip

    No offense .
    but according to me ............ from his Quote it seems as if he is more-over looking for an automated system rather than a manual method for the configuration purpose but the link posted offers/teaches the manual method of doing it as you already posted And he also has quoted another problem which he is facing.

    (Neutral Tone) Both are same.

    DHCP free us of entering the values manually. Since anything that help the problem solved is good, I suggested the link. It is surely worth a try.

    It can be reverted back in a few seconds. Just write a click is required.
