The speed that you're getting is OK. Thats how much speed you're supposed to get in the plan you have. BTW, HTTP downloads (Rapidshare etc) are generally a little faster than torrents etc. I use Rapidshare and get almost 30-32kBps on the same plan, while with torrents I get 25-28kBps at best.
UL 750 + has a maximum speed of 32 KBps. Using torrents and port forwarding can assure that you are getting this speed. 25- 30 is a good speed. Select torrents with enough seeds.

GET DAP premiuim ....... increase normal download speed by 10 times ... (gives 10 connections)
even simple DAP gives 5 times speed (5 connections)
DAP does not affect torrents much
so on a normal download , say if i am on a 256kbps connection, will DAP download at 2560kbps?? which is like 2mbps ??
of course not!DAP is just for convenience & making sure you get max possible bandwidth,say,32KBps consistently for a 256kbps connection.
May be this will be useful

no matter what you can not get more speed than what was set by your ISP.if you do get more it is because of some error/setting on your ISP's part & not some download manager.using simultaneous connections will help you in getting max speed as per your ISP from a site which does allow multiple connections but that doesn't mean that for such a site you will start to get 50KBps when your connection is 256kbps(or 32KBps max speed).
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
Download managers can help us achieve maximum speed. It cannot exceed more than the cap by ISP. Also they help us resume interrupted downloads.
depends on server.some servers won't let you resume until you are user with some premium privileges. Also they help us resume interrupted downloads.
DAP does not accelerate thru COMPRESSIONS..
it provides 10 connections each with same speed..
i HAVE BSNL 2 mbps so my max download should be 200 kbps
but i downloaded 20 files that day with 550 kbps on DAP and 200 kbps on utorrent
u beleive or not its ur choice
it is just an advice try urself
175 million DAP users can't be wrong
Wrong information. DAP optimizes the available bandwidth.
With DAP or any other download manager, the download will start with one connection. That connection may never reach the maximum speed allowed. What DAP and other download managers do is to open multiple connections and download bits and pieces of the file and try to use maximum bandwidth available.
If your ISP is providing 256 kbps or 32 kB/s, then DAP (standard) will open 5 connections. Each DAP connection will have individual speeds. The total speed (of all connections) will never exceed 32 kB/s; well at most it will go to 35 kB/s.
Try downloading a 10 MB file from any site. The time required will be:
Size = 10240 kB
Download speed = 32 kB/s
Time required = 320s
Whether you have DAP standard or premium or IDM or whatever, the speed cannot increase beyond the speed that is allowed by your ISP.

True. You can never achieve speeds more than the CAP of your plan. But download managers help achieve maximum speed by maintaining higher no of connections. Most download managers (Except IDM and FDM) show exaggerated values to confuse the user. Believe me, I used almost all of them and found IDM to be the best.
lols...
i dont go with what speed DAp is showing
I downloaded 600Mb file from Microsoft in less than 30 min
for me DAp USUALLY STARTS with 10 connections.
Doesnt matter how it is increasing Speed..
IF U DONT BELEIVE DONT INSTALL![]()
I am also a DAP premium user but i never got more than my plan
always my connections (whichever manager) speed will be 30 - 35 kBps some times goes upto 40 kBps for few seconds
he is probably using some business plan/lease line/office connection with more than 2mbps speed.
I got download speed of 15 to 30 KBps by idm and 15 KBps by dap(not premium) while using mobile office airtel. It is true i dont knw how it is possible but it is true.
well said,just4kix.anyway just for some information in Delhi you can easily get speeds ~30KBps using AIRTEL GPRS with an EDGE enabled mobile, say, nokia N73 which my brother uses.it is because EDGE enabled networks can easily support 256kbps speeds but the same AIRTEL network in UP(west)will not give more than 5-6KBps because there EDGE network is not enabled.
thankx everyone fo your help![]()
