With BSNL, there is no way that your initial investment is lower than Rs. 2000.

I am talking specific to BSNL Dataone.

Charges specific to new telephone line (http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/tnc/basictariff.htm):
    a) Installation charges = Rs. 500/-
    b) Security deposit = Rs. 500/- (minimum)

Charges specific to new braodband (http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone_tariff.htm):

I am recommending Home 500 C plan that will allow waiver of landline rent (rs. 180/-):

    a) Installation charges = Rs. 250/-
    b) Modem charges = Rs. 1000/- (minimum)
    c) Security deposit = Rs. 500/-

    ^^
Presently many BSNL Circles offer waiver of installation charges for both New Landline and BB connections.

So your initial investment could be Modem cost : Rs. 1000 plus VAT (in most cases 4%) plus refundable security deposit of Rs.1000 (if you choose H500C plan)

Alternatively, if you decide to take the modem on rental, then your initial investment would be refundable security deposit of Rs.1500 for H500C plan (including security of Rs.500 for modem) and your fixed monthly charges would be Rs.550 (incl. Rs.50 for modem rent) plus 10.03% service tax.

I guess, for Virajpete, you may come under rural area so can expect some good discounts.

CONNECT BROADBAND give Rs. 444 unlimiteD
BUT BSNL is best as far as speeds are concerned
if u want to play online gaems like CS,CZ etc then go for others like airtel
