Default weird problem regarding bsnl broadband

    Hi,
I am using bsnl broadband connection and yesterday I faced a bizarre problem.
I was able to log in to rediffbol messenger and when I tried to connect to google,I got "the web page can't be displayed". I got the same message for every website and every other messenger that I tried to visit. I checked my connection and found it perfectly alright. I even checked my Full Network Map and found it ok. I don't have any clue what the problem is.

FYI I am using wireless modem. My lappy is connected wirelessly while one desktop pc is connected through wire with the modem. The desktop pc is working fine(I mean I can access internet from my pc).

Can anyone tell me what the problem is or help me fixing the problem?
I'll be more than happy to get help.

Run a quick anti virus and spyware scan and also check it with another browser if that works... I am sure the problem lies within one of them two.

To cross check whether the problem is with you laptop remove the RJ45 cable from your desktop and jack it into your laptop and try accessing internet, whether it works or not. before doing that turn off Wi-Fi of your laptop.

why dont you just reconfig the router by giving guest access and connect your lappy form guest access point. If it works then you can again go to the secured connection method.

just asking, from lappy can you open 192.168.1.1 ?

    hey,
I am back again. I can figure out that it's DNS related problem. When I try to access google through it's IP Address,I get the google homepage but get the same problem one I put search string and hit it.
Can you please help me fixing the problem?

PS: I am using windows vista home premium OS and my modem is beetel 450BX1

I was using airtel broadband connection earlier but shifted to a new location and I ended up sharing my roommate's bsnl broadband connection. I connected my lappy to the already existing connection with the username and password that the bsnl guy had provided and it was working fine until day before yesterday.

Will changing to Open DNS fix my problem?
Anyway I am gonna try it out and will let you know.
    Thanks for the help.

    Thank You!!!
I changed to OPEN DNS and it's working fine....

Thnak you thank you thank you
