Its not able to connect to the internet still.....I tried everyting.........but nothing is working.........As soon as i connect to the laptop.....It recognizes its IP and I can access the internet .....but When I connect to the desktop .....It always displays the message "Network Cable Unplugged"..........
Just check in your desktop where you plugin the ethernet cable, when you insert the cable does a green light glow there ? (after inserting the cable)
Yes It does glow......
ok thats good it means you cable is fine and connection is also ok now we have to configure it.
ok
now the problem you are facing is even after you plugin the ethernet cable the system is showing, Network cable Unplugged correct ?
and do you have you motherboard CD with you now ?
Ya I have inserted the motherboard CD in the Desktop Computer......now ??
right click on my computer goto properties
then to hardware tab then device manager
there goto network adapters in that select your adapter and uninstall it
just say yes,yes if it is asked. Uninstall the adapter and then click the scan for hardware changes button at the top and it will again install the network adapter if asked for driver (although it might not ask) if asked give the path to the motherboard CD and it will install it. After this again remove the cable and insert it and check if you still get the same message that, network cable is unplugged
I was facing a similar problem in the morning. I tried troubleshoot (W7) and entered IP address manually. Also had to reset the modem.
Try repair, enter IP manually, restart your computer. Hope it will work for you.
Please post ipconfig/all details.

hey kiran......man I will tell u I have just brought an Ethernet card from a shop.....because My desktop didnt have any ethernet facility......so it gave a CD
with it .......So as u said I did.............I inserted the motherboard CD and uninstalled and when I re-installed It did'nt found any drivers in the motherboard CD .....instead It found drivers in the CD which was supplimented with "Ethernet Card".....I installed the driver....It asked for some realtek Driver.....I unplugged and plugged again......but It still says that ......Network Cable Unplugged.....So Sad......![]()
its not the mistake of kiran its your mistake that u didnt inform that u purchased the NIC seperately, have you installed the drivers provided on the cd with NIC.
Hey dude....Where did I mention that It was his mistake......That guy was sheer helping me............I installed the driver.......By the way....It shows three drivers 2 from C drives and one from E drive......and When I try to Install the e drive driver.....It says cannot be installed........

oh ok. Thanks mohan
ok now i think the PCI slot in which you have inserted the card is not fit properly and only some 1 plug may be missing just just shutdown the system and pres it correctly if you have tightned screw to it then remove it as sometimes having screw will pull the card out. If this doesnt work then insert that card in another PCI slot usually in old boards 3 -4 PCI slot will be there
insert it in another slot and try, If this also gives the same error then just replace the card thats all.
ok whats the status of your NIC under Device Manager > Network adapters..?
See the card has been.....fit properly......otherwise the light wouldn't have shown........and mohan....the status is Realtek Rtl 8139d PCI fast ethernet adapter......
@xtrimist
(A)START NETWORK LAN
Properties.
On top of the page BOX the ethernet card is shown.
(B) Click "Configure"
Check "Enabled"
Further settings like drivers etc , if needed.
(C)Post data.
Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all
essebbe I checked everything......it says media disconnected........Now I opened the box ....again I fitted the card.......now what ???![]()
OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS MEEEEE>>>>>>>>>>>>IT WORKED THANK U GUYS FOR HELPING ME>...................U GUYS ROCK...................KIRANS IDEA OF AGAIN FITTING THE CARD WORKed.............I AM HAPPY.............ITS LIKE NEW BIRTH..............THANK U very much again...............unk:

This is entirely not correct. Even in that card there are many connections at the bottom which will connect to the board in those connections some are for the "green led" indicator for our badluck that connection must have been connected but the main data transfer connection mightnot have.
Anyway Glad that your issue is resolved. Enjoy
