Just check in your desktop where you plugin the ethernet cable, when you insert the cable does a green light glow there ? (after inserting the cable)

right click on my computer goto properties
then to hardware tab then device manager

there goto network adapters in that select your adapter and uninstall it
just say yes,yes if it is asked. Uninstall the adapter and then click the scan for hardware changes button at the top and it will again install the network adapter if asked for driver (although it might not ask) if asked give the path to the motherboard CD and it will install it. After this again remove the cable and insert it and check if you still get the same message that, network cable is unplugged

I was facing a similar problem in the morning. I tried troubleshoot (W7) and entered IP address manually. Also had to reset the modem.

Try repair, enter IP manually, restart your computer. Hope it will work for you.

    Please post ipconfig/all details.

with it .......So as u said I did.............I inserted the motherboard CD and uninstalled and when I re-installed It did'nt found any drivers in the motherboard CD .....instead It found drivers in the CD which was supplimented with "Ethernet Card".....I installed the driver....It asked for some realtek Driver.....I unplugged and plugged again......but It still says that ......Network Cable Unplugged.....So Sad......

its not the mistake of kiran its your mistake that u didnt inform that u purchased the NIC seperately, have you installed the drivers provided on the cd with NIC.

    oh ok. Thanks mohan

ok now i think the PCI slot in which you have inserted the card is not fit properly and only some 1 plug may be missing just just shutdown the system and pres it correctly if you have tightned screw to it then remove it as sometimes having screw will pull the card out. If this doesnt work then insert that card in another PCI slot usually in old boards 3 -4 PCI slot will be there
insert it in another slot and try, If this also gives the same error then just replace the card thats all.

This is entirely not correct. Even in that card there are many connections at the bottom which will connect to the board in those connections some are for the "green led" indicator for our badluck that connection must have been connected but the main data transfer connection mightnot have.

Anyway Glad that your issue is resolved. Enjoy
