    Exclamation Doubt regarding IP adress

I am using BSNL broadband and i am always getting randomly some ip in the series of 59.92.XX.XX. I just want to know is there any chance that anybody can trace me using my ip adress or atleast they can trace upto the telephone exchange which i am connected to..

As far as i understood as users are getting dynamic ip its very hard to trace any single user in the BSNL network .Please explain ...

If the person who is tracing have legal powers then he can trace and come to your home also, even though you have dynamic IP.

As of some user tracing its a bit hard but not impossible.

Yes absolutely. Not only that, they have to maintain complete and actual records of new request/activation, customer complaints, bill complaints, bandwidth utilization, service disruption details, service availability and lot more.

Your DynamicIP/Mac Address etc are recorded in BSNL for billing purposes.

This info is enough to track you.

If you send an email still easier to track you !

yes, for legal purposes all ISP are required to maintain for a certain period of time.. may be months or years...

Since they allocate an IP for you, its not at all difficult for them to keep track of your IP's

Default Hey pal this is the answer

BSNL its totaly not a fool even you use a dynamic IP generator or a manual ip hider or you choose your own ip,Your real IP is been generated and saved in the bsnl server of your area and you a just a single client to that server.BSNL not only tracks all the things you do but also passes a continous stream of cookies that trace your system status... Be aware of all the things you do dont do abuse and get caught to always use your couter intelligence so that you are safe ....

I can show you an example ...just install norton antivirus and the you can see it blocks a lot of attack from bsnl only..... stops incomming cookies...

TAKE CARE MY PAL BSNL IS NOT A FOOL AND I HOPE YOU TOOOO.....

    Yes. All records are available.

These records may be kept for up to six months. Recent terrorism activities have mandated such procedures.

There are millions of people surfing on BSNL provided networks or any other ISP.

All ISP keep the records. But who has the time and money (plus inclination) to sift through these records whether anyone is visiting p**n sites or not. Sometimes police/ATS will ask for records and then these are provided.

Don't worry, the various ISPs store the IP details only until you get caught for wrong doing..........

Downloading from these sites are legal but downloading copy right content is illegal. But as many people are doing this ISPs have means of tracking it and punishing the wrong doers. So no worries

It is just like buying pirated CDs from street. Both buying, selling and keeping comes under criminal offense.

As I told you before, chances of getting caught is as much as getting caught while buying a pirated DVD from the street seller. I think almost all members here download movie from net. Let it be torrent or direct links.
