    Default Doubt regarding port binding

I have been using BSNL home 500 plan since 04-10-2005 (Calcutta telephones) and my IP address starts with 59... .Read in a recent thread that 98% of old connections having IP starting with 59.. are not port bound.
How do I find out if my connection is port bound?
I've had no complaints regarding my billing and no "doubtful" usage so far ,as I've regularly been checking my usage ,and hence in retrospect, I guess my account has not been hacked till date.
I have recently changed to UL750 (Rs 500 in Kolkata) but still would like to confirm whether my connection is port bound or not; and if it's not what should one do to either rectify or as a remedial measure?
    Thanks in advance

Check with your exchange they can tell you whether its port binded or not or else go to your friends or someone elses place who has bsnl bb and just give a try with your user id and password if it works means its not port binded.

    There are two methods

    1. Try to use your ID and password at your friends'

    2. Check with the local exchange.

If your connection is port binded, it will not be possible to use it from another connection.

Hope you will find this useful
