Default Speed Expectations for UL750 Plan in Pune

Greetings, I am an expat working in Pune for a year+ and have BSNL (UL750 plan) at the flat.

Originally, when they installed I was on one of the installers accounts, getting regular speedtests of 2+ mbps download, nearly 1+ mbps up. Someone came and switched it over to my own account (in the PPoE settings) and I am now only connecting at 256 or less kbps. It has been a month now and I have had the installers in the house several times, they have reset the connection at BSNL over and over, but still speeds are consistently less than 256 kbps.

What should my expectations be for this connection? Will I never get any better than 256kpbs here thru BSNL or is something wrong in setup?

    Thanks for any advice.

I too have UL 750. The maximum speed for UL 750 is 256 Kbps (32 KBps). You cannot get a higher value through legitimate means.

You can find more details here

It is impossible to get 40 KBps for a plan that is 32 KBps max. You may get it for a minute or so, but not continuously. BSNL speed do not vary much across India.

Your budget is very less. You can get some plans from Airtel which gives 2 Mbps download speed unlimited. But it will be costly. I am not sure if they operate in Kerala. BSNL has the cheapest tariff and for UL 750 the speed is only 32 KBps download and around 12 KBps upload. Obviously other providers will charge more.

Within your budget, Home 500 plans can give 30 + upload speed. But they are not unlimited.

Currently in Kolkata the UL Plan 750 with IP 117 upload speed 62KBps, but the download speed 32KBps. I dont know about other state the upload speed of IP 117 with UL 750. If the other state have the same upload speed with the plan UL750 then ATHUL4R you can go with BSNL Plan.

ATHUL4R if you have friend with this ip 117 you can test the upload speed to the speedtest.net. If his upload speed shows to you above 30KBps then you can go with it.
