MTU option will be in internet connection settings. Before trying MTU, try Open DNS

1. In WAN settings uncheck "Bridged" and select ppp/PPPoE
In the page where you enter UserID ( without @ bsnl.in ) and pw
MTU box may be available.
**************************************PPP Username and Password
PPP usually requires that you have a user name and password to establish your connection. In the boxes below, enter the user name and password that your ISP has provided to you.
PPPoE Service Name:
PPP Username:
PPP Password:
PPPoE Service Name:
Authentication Method:
Enable Fullcone NAT
Manual connect
Dial on demand (with idle timeout timer)
Inactivity Timeout (minutes) [1-4320]:
MTU [1000-2000]:
PPP IP extension
Use Static IP Address
2.
try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
follow the instructions.
Post ipconfig /all data
Start run type cmd type ipconfig /all

@spectre
I mentionedDepends on the Firmware version.MTU box may be available.
There are two versions of Ut300r2u Old and new .
members respond to posts with minimum input from thread starters
and have to assume so many details.
Also other option/s were mentioned.

Changing DNS is a simple process. You can always switch back to previous one.

So the other options you mentioned in your first post do works?
I read somewhere in the different site's forum these options change only
registry values only but the modem's MTU does not get affected.Sites such as
speedguide.net shows the unaffected results.
please confirm this.
